A legend was born from Melaka's famous five companions. Hang Tuah, who was Melaka's fully decorated admiral of the naval forces, had successfully defended Melaka's sovereignty from countless attacks by Siamese and Achenese fleets. The life of Hang Tuah began in Kampung Duyong where he was born. As a boy, hang Tuah had often dreamt of performing greats feats in the service of the sultan of Melaka.
He had four friends - Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir, and Hang Lekiu. They began mastering in 'Silat' since young. By 16 years old, the five, know as the 'five companions', clashed with a band of pirates in Straits of Melaka and emerged victorious.

Hang Tuah Well
Located in Kampong Duyong where Hang Tuah spent his childhood among four of his good friends who would later become the famous knights of Melaka. The well is said to be the abode of his soul which takes the apparition of a white crocodile. For a commoner to catch the glimpse of Hang Tuah is hardly likely. It is said that only the holy among us can ever hope to see the apparition.
